I am very interested in making a difference with my life in the lives of others. My husband and I support a number of overseas children thru World Vision, a humanitarian organization addressing the needs of poor children around the world.
After reading an article about Leora Raikin in Fons and Porter's quilting magazine, I was compelled to email her and ask how I could become involved in promoting the kits, and in so doing help to promote economic independence for the indigenous Ndebele tribal women of South Africa.
The short story is that I jumped in with both feet and began selling her kits from my home, next to my longarm machine quilting business! My husband and I wanted to create greater exposure to the general public and so we began doing trade shows.
In August of 2007, I travelled to Los Angeles, CA to take the 'Certified Educator' workshop taught by Leora Raikin. I am now available to teach workshops to children and adults alike.
